The WordPress Flickr Browser

You can now post photos directly from Flickr thanks to code that Andy has worked on for a few days. It’s still a work in progress, and when you drag different size images it will display as a thumbnail. You may want to edit the html code too to fix the width and height. It is super though and will be very useful when posting sets of images from Flickr!

How does it work?

You’ll need to enter your flickr username into your profile and save that page first. Without that, WordPress doesn’t know who you are on flickr.com! Now go back to the “Write Post” screen and click “Browse Flickr”. If everything is set up ok, then your Flickr images will show up! If not, the error message “Failed to find Flickr ID for ”” will be printed so correct your Profile!

  1. Will we ever be able to really edit our own themes, ever? Scobleizer (http://scobleizer.wordpress.com) was able to do so apparently with the help of Matt, and he also said it’s a preview of an upcoming feature. But the FAQs indicate this won’t happen.

I’ll switch from Blogger to WordPress as long as I retain some modicum of control over my blog’s look and design. Can you shed some light? Will this be an option in the future?
